Fambras Halal International Relations Director Nizar El Ghandour highlighted the organization’s long-standing relationship with Malaysia’s Department of Islamic Development (Jakim), which began in 1979.

“Jakim has done an exemplary job in halal development, investing significantly in the industry beyond just slaughtering practices,” said El Ghandour at Malaysia’s pavilion during the Russia-Islamic World KazanForum 2024. He praised Malaysia’s rigorous halal auditing process, affirming Fambras’ commitment to its partnership with Malaysia.
According to information displayed at the Malaysian Pavilion, as of November 9, 2023, Jakim’s Halal Management Division has recognized 86 foreign halal certification bodies from 48 countries. This extensive network underscores Malaysia’s pivotal role in setting global halal standards.
