MIHAS 2023 is witnessing robust interest as the post-COVID economic bounce-back accelerates. The intrigue stems from both local and international companies delving deep into diverse halal sectors. As of now, a whopping 90% of the 1,500 available exhibition booths are occupied, and predictions hint at MIHAS 2023 selling out by August.
Apart from traditional food and beverage exhibitors, a vast array of sectors are represented, including:
- Food technology and packaging
- Pharmaceuticals and medical devices
- Modest fashion and lifestyle
- Education
- eCommerce, retail, and franchise
- Islamic finance and fintech
- Media and recreation
- Cosmetics and personal care
- Islamic arts and crafts
- Hospitality and tourism
- Services and enablers
Organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), the event is slated from 12 to 15 September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. Claiming the title of the world’s largest halal-centric showcase, MIHAS 2023 stands tall in the industry.
A surge of interest has emerged from industry stakeholders aiming to use MIHAS 2023 as a pivotal platform for forming strategic alliances. The latest to join the fray is Malaysia Airlines (MAS), which has earned the title of MIHAS’ official airline. This collaboration will see MAS extending an exclusive early bird offer to MIHAS participants from 1 June to 15 June 2023, applicable for those flying between 5 to 22 September via MAS (international) or Firefly (domestic). MATRADE’s CEO, YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, voiced, “The overwhelming industry interest, whether about securing booths or forming partnerships, is fundamentally rooted in MIHAS’ established reputation. MIHAS has evolved into a cornerstone for global Halal companies eager to access the US$5 trillion (RM22 trillion) global Halal market.”
Driving the global Halal market’s meteoric rise are favorable demographics, well-devised government policies, and initiatives from the private sector. The burgeoning global Muslim population and heightened awareness regarding Halal product and service standards amplify the industry’s progression.
