Saudi Arabia has officially announced the commencement of the new Umrah season, inviting citizens and residents of GCC countries, including the Kingdom itself, to embark on a spiritual journey. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah declared on Tuesday that individuals from GCC countries can now submit their applications for an Umrah permit using the “Nusuk” or “Tawakkalna” applications. This announcement follows the successful conclusion of this year’s Hajj season, marking an important milestone for Muslim pilgrims.
The Nusuk application provides a streamlined process for pilgrims to obtain the necessary permits to perform Umrah, a deeply significant religious pilgrimage, and to visit the Holy Rawdah located within the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. This digital platform ensures convenience and efficiency for applicants, facilitating their access to sacred sites and enhancing their overall experience.
As part of the application process, the Tawakkalna application verifies that individuals meet the essential health requirements, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all participants. With the ongoing global health challenges, this additional layer of scrutiny emphasizes the commitment of Saudi Arabia to safeguarding the health of pilgrims and preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
In a recent update, the ministry revealed its plans to expand the opportunity for individuals from outside the GCC region to undertake the Umrah pilgrimage. Starting from the beginning of the new Islamic year, which is projected to commence on either July 18 or 19 (next Tuesday or Wednesday), pilgrims from beyond the GCC will be able to embark on this sacred journey. This development opens the doors to a wider global community, fostering greater inclusivity and facilitating the fulfillment of spiritual aspirations for Muslims worldwide.
The announcement of the new Umrah season showcases Saudi Arabia’s commitment to facilitating and enhancing the experience of pilgrims, both regionally and internationally. By leveraging digital applications and emphasizing health precautions, the Kingdom aims to provide a seamless and secure pilgrimage experience for all participants. As the new Islamic year approaches, the anticipation grows for the rekindling of spiritual devotion and the deepening of connections with holy sites.
