UAE-based food retailer Just Falafel has announced that it is linking up with an Indian company to launch its brand in the south Asian country.
Just Falafel said in a statement that it has signed an agreement with property developer and hospitality company Prism Properties to launch its first restaurant in Bangalore.
“Moving into the Indian market in such an important location cements Just Falafel’s ambitions to enter the dynamic market,” the company said.
It added that Bangalore’s demand for new restaurants is “growing at a fast pace, reflecting the appetite for eating out in India”.
Just Falafel said it will offer its core menu, but will also infuse the flavours of Bangalore to deliver a “truly authentic street food offering to its new customers”.
Mohamad Bitar, founder of Just Falafel, is well acquainted with the Indian market with his wife Reema Shetty, who co-founded the company, hailing from the country.
He said: “Since the beginning it has been our dream to deliver old world flavours derived from the street to a global audience. We are delighted to introduce our ethically sourced ingredients that are the base of our healthy, nutritious cuisine.”
Just Falafel is expanding internationally and is set to roll out in 18 countries across the globe.
Last week, Just Falafel announced plans to increase its presence in Oman with a deal to open 10 new outlets.
Just Falafel also announced it has expanded in Australia by opening its doors in the country’s largest railway station in Sydney.
The food company also said it has opened its first store In Toronto, with the restaurant located close to the famous Yonge Street.
Last month, Just Falafel also announced the signing of a deal to roll out 10 new stores in Texas, as part of its aggressive expansion plans in the United States.
The expansion will see restaurants opening initially in Houston, followed by further stores in Austin
