Opening its doors on September 7, 2022, the Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2022 (MIHAS) was the world’s largest Halal trade exhibition that occurred in Menara MATRADE in Kuala Lumpur. It happened in advance of the physical International Sourcing Programme (INSP).
More than 200 international customers and 300 suppliers, including Malaysian exporters, met at the actual INSP MIHAS. It is also staged in connection with the 18th Edition of MIHAS. MATRADE offered the main business matching plan. The INSP MIHAS enabled over 1,500 prearranged B2B interactions to take place at its actual event. TMATRADE’s 46 foreign offices are responsible for arranging business-to-business (B2B) meetings with high-end clients from countries such as Bhutan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United States, India, and Turkey. These elite customers originate from some of the most well-known companies, retail chains, and grocery chains in the world.
The online version has welcomed almost 200 Malaysian exporters and nearly 200 international buyers. Now, it is predicted to generate RM43.1 million in sales. With an overwhelming interest in the online INSP MIHAS since its launch in May 2017, the event’s organizers have decided to keep it running for another year.
Statement of CEO
In a statement, MATRADE CEO Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz expressed his excitement. He said the INSP MIHAS program has received a positive response from both foreign buyers and Malaysian exporters. Even though the virtual program ended on August 31, he claims that MATRADE has continued to get demand for its services.
Thus, we are happy to announce that MATRADE has decided to keep the INSP MIHAS online program running until November 15, 2022.
According to MATRADE CEO, “This is a great indicator for Malaysia’s trading performance and the infinite prospects in the Halal economy.”
By combining the power of physical and digital media, INSP MIHAS is helping over 600 Malaysian exporters. They helped them to connect with over 400 customers from 50 different countries. It includes the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, South Asia, ASEAN, Oceania, and the African area.
MATRADE has primed the INSP MIHAS program to encourage high-value trade deals. It also helps to connect Malaysian exporters with premium customers from different countries. These countries include Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, India, and Türkiye via its 46 foreign offices. These elite purchasers are among the country’s most prominent corporations, stores, and grocery chains.
