The accumulated revenue generated from these exports during the first six months of the year amounted to a staggering USD 5.168 billion, surpassing the earnings from January to June 2022 by an impressive 9.3%.
Focusing on the data for June alone, Brazil’s poultry exports reached 446,200 tonnes, marking a 3.2% increase compared to the same month last year. However, export revenue for June 2023 stood at USD 887.5 million, reflecting a slight decrease of 6.7% compared to June 2022.
China continued to be the leading destination for Brazilian poultry products, importing 390,700 tonnes during the first half of 2023, representing a substantial 33% increase from the same period in 2022. Following closely, Japan imported 219,800 tonnes (+8.5%), the United Arab Emirates imported 200,100 tonnes (-18.3%), South Africa imported 189,700 tonnes (+16.5%), and Saudi Arabia imported 176,800 tonnes (+8.4%).

Ricardo Santin, the president of ABPA, highlighted the industry’s success, stating, “Throughout this year, we have witnessed increased purchases from virtually all of Brazil’s export destinations, particularly in Asia. The consistently positive monthly export figures, averaging around 440,000 tonnes, serve as a testament to the market’s confidence in the quality of our products, the biosafety of our production, and the transparent and effective work carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, as well as other national entities, in monitoring Avian Influenza.”
The outstanding performance of Brazil’s poultry exports in the first half of 2023 not only underscores the industry’s resilience and competitiveness but also reinforces its position as a key player in the global market.
