Islamic Relief’s grant program is a cornerstone in supporting and investing in the voluntary and community sector throughout the United Kingdom. With a commitment to driving positive change, Islamic Relief seeks to empower marginalized and vulnerable communities through funding projects that align with key themes.
Building Resilience to Poverty
One of the primary objectives of Islamic Relief’s grant program is to build resilience to poverty. This includes prioritizing program delivery within disadvantaged and vulnerable communities, incorporating sustainability within program initiatives, and developing the capacity of local communities to address issues of poverty. By focusing on these aspects, Islamic Relief aims to create sustainable solutions that uplift communities from poverty.
Empowering Women and Girls with Islamic Relief
Islamic Relief is committed to empowering women and girls through its grant program. This involves providing economic opportunities for women, supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and developing the confidence and skills of women. By empowering women and girls, Islamic Relief believes that communities can achieve greater socio-economic development and inclusivity.
Supporting Refugee and Asylum-Seeking Communities
Another key theme of Islamic Relief’s grant program is supporting refugee and asylum-seeking communities. This involves engaging in projects that empower refugee communities socially and financially, helping them integrate into their new environments, and providing them with the support they need to rebuild their lives.
Youth & Family Development
It recognizes the importance of youth and family development in creating thriving communities. As such, the grant program focuses on engaging young people in constructive activities, encouraging youth leadership and confidence-building, and supporting disadvantaged BAMER (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, and Refugee) populations. By investing in youth and family development, Islamic Relief aims to create a brighter future for communities across the UK.
Funding Information
For the year 2024, Islamic Relief has allocated a fund of £2.5 million for its grant program. Grant amounts vary from £1,000 to £40,000 depending on the project for first-time applicants, with a duration of 12 months. Second-time successful applicants can bid for £50,000, with options for multi-year funding. This funding structure allows Islamic Relief to support a wide range of projects and initiatives that align with its key themes.
