Tunisia is set to host the 10th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Halal Expo Trade Fair from May 31 to June 4 at the Kram Exhibition Centre. According to a press release from the Trade and Export Development Ministry, the event aims to boost the OIC member states’ participation in global halal trade and foster investment and commercial partnerships among institutions operating in this sector across OIC nations.
Organized by the OIC’s Islamic Center for Development of Trade (ICDT), the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), and International Fairs & Exhibitions (IFE Tunisia), the event will take place under the patronage of the Trade and Export Development Ministry. The expo is anticipated to attract attention from local and international markets and provide an excellent opportunity for businesses, trade development agencies, and economic actors from OIC countries and beyond.
In addition to the main exhibition, various side events will be organized. These include a roundtable for sharing experiences in halal certification among OIC member states, a training workshop to enhance market access for women’s cooperatives, business meetings for sellers and buyers of halal food and beauty products, and field visits several pioneering Tunisian companies in the halal sector.
The 10th OIC Halal Expo Trade Fair aims to strengthen the presence of halal products and services in the global market and enhance trade and investment ties among institutions operating in the sector. The event seeks to create a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration across the halal industry by bringing together key stakeholders. With a diverse range of activities, the expo is poised to significantly impact the growth and development of the halal market in OIC member countries and beyond.
